We are just shy of 50 days into the new year.
A few weeks ago we were all making new year’s resolutions and/or goals to be more active/eat more veggies/ finally write that book…… How has that gone for you? Are you a slim, spinach-eating, book-writing machine?
If not, don’t get bummed out. If your new’s resolution already failed, you can get back on track. Today you can choose to create your new plan, or jump back into your original 2016 plan. If you slipped off, or were never really on it, pick up that pen and join me.
To create your vision or plan for this year, I recommend that you sign up for my FREE Video training series. This will help you get clear on what you want help you create your roadmap. Get the FREE training here.
Once you’re ready to set some specific goals, follow these steps below.
Write your goals in the present tense. This will get you believing that they can become a reality.
Set measureable goals. If you want to achieve it, you need to be able to measure it. “I want to workout” = no. “I exercise 3 time a week” = yes.
Use positive language and talk about what you want. For example “I workout three times a week” instead of “I don’t skip my workouts.” This will focus your energy on what you actually want.
Set a time frame. This will keep you accountable and focused.
Be as specific as possible. “I own a two-bedroom apartment facing the sea” is much more powerful and exciting than “I own my own home.”
Once you’ve set your goals, work backwards and plan how you are going to do this. If your goal is to save five thousand euros by October 2016, plan it out. How much more do you need to make each month? What can you do to save each month?
Most importantly, set goals that get you I-can’t-stop-talking-about-this excited!
And in case you need a little kit in the pants to get started, remember the words from Jim Rohn, “If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”
In the comments section below, Id love for you to share one goal you are working towards this year.
Have an awesome day,
Ana
