It’s estimated the we have somewhere from 12,000 to 50,000 thoughts per day. And according to the research, most of those thoughts are the same as the previous day and most of them are negative.
Our thoughts can help us or sabotage our efforts to when trying to achieve goals. No wonder it can be so difficult to create positive changes.
The good news is, if you can recognize a negative or limiting thought, you can consciously choose to change it.
Here are 3 common sabotaging beliefs that we can reverse to get us on the right track to health and happiness:
1. I Hate working out. I’ll never like it. Why should I bother?
Decide to exercise no because you “have to”, but because you choose to. Find an activity you like and actually want to do.
New thought:
I chose to workout because I feel awesome and energized when I do.
2. I’ll never be perfect or have a perfect body. Why bother?
Setting unrealistic goals can cause frustration and make you want to give up. Let’s face it. We all have days when we mindlessly overeat or skip a workout. There is no such thing as perfection!
New Thought:
I accept and love my body as it is, and work to make it healthier and stronger.
3. Taking “self care” time is stupid. Stupid and selfish. I should be working more on my business or spending this time with my family.
This belief couldn’t be any further a from the truth. The more fulfilled, happy and healthy you are, the more you have to give to others. By putting yourself at the bottom of your priority list you’re not do anybody much good.
New Thought:
I deserve to be happy and healthy
